What to see in the Uffizi

Madonna Enthroned

In the Florentine room from the 1200s you'll be welcomed by one of Giotto's most famous works, located next to the Pale di Cimabue and Duccio da Buoninsegna.


Leonardo da Vinci

the Adoration of the Magi is the masterpiece that allows you to understand the use of the tables in the 15th century and the importance of drawing in Florentine painting. The Annunciation, oil and tempera on panel: in the painting we find Mary, who is taken by surprise by the arrival of the Archangel Gabriel while reading.


Botticelli's Venus and Primavera

continuing along the corridors of the Gallery, you will arrive in room 10 where the works of the master Botticelli await you, an emblem of perfection and ideal beauty.


Tondo Doni

by Michelangelo Buonarroti is an artwork commissioned by the rich Florentine banker Agnolo Doni and represents the Holy Family. You can find it in room 41


Madonna del Cardellino
the oil painting on panel by the famous artist Raphael was created right in the Florentine capital. The work allows you to see Leonardo's influences, particularly in the technique of brightness and shading.
Venus of Urbino

the representation of Venus where Titian uses bright colours that intensify each other. It's in a domestic setting and the female figure is resting on two cushions, gazing intently at the observer.


Caravaggio

the Adolescent Bacchus painted on canvas and the Shield with the Head of Medusa, known for its unusual base, or rather a shield. The shadow technique was used as a device to convey a sense of movement to the head of Medusa.

In room 18 you can admire the portraits of Cosimo I and Lorenzo the Magnificent, by artists Bronzino and Vasari respectively.
